American Held in Pakistan Prison for Driving Near Nuclear Facility

The World

Alabama native Matthew Barrett had no idea four years ago what twists and turns his life would take.

In 2007, he was traveling through Europe and Asia.

Barrett was spending his nights on the couches of friends or with other backpackers in hostels.

After about 6 months he got married and settled in Pakistan.

Today, he is still in Pakistan, but he is in jail accused of spying for the CIA.

He says he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Anchor Marco Werman speaks with Guardian newspaper reporter Declan Walsh about his story he wrote about Barrett.
