A family in one of the hardest-hit regions of Pakistan’s Sindh province were forced to live on the roof of a school for two months while they waited for floodwaters that destroyed their home to recede. They are directly seeing the damaging climate change effects being discussed by world leaders at the COP27 summit.

With the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan, neighboring China and Pakistan are concerned over the security of their people and economic investments. They fear that recent attacks on Chinese workers in Pakistani cities could become more common with a hardline government next door.

Leaders in Delhi have resisted Beijing’s efforts to pull India into networks that China leads or dominates, including the Belt and Road Initiative and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
