Red Cross Appeals for Ceasefire in Syria

A sustained artillery barrage battered a single neighborhood in the Syrian city of Homs today.
Opposition sources said at least thirty people were killed there, including several children.
The International Committee of the Red Cross has appealed for a 2-hour ceasefire every day to save lives.
The ICRC spokesman in Damascus, Saleh Dabbakeh, tells anchor Lisa Mullins that two hours is the minimum needed to provide assistance to people, whether it’s food, water, or medical care.
“It will also provide enough time to allow Red Crescent volunteers to evacuate people who have been injured.”
Dabbakeh said he believes “it would be difficult for anybody to reject our demands since all we’re doing… is to try actually to save lives.”
