The Obama Administration has vowed to supply the Syrian rebels with weapons.

But it’s moving very slowly on that.

So for now, the rebels have to make do with weapons from other sources: the ones they get from friendly Gulf states; the ones they can capture; and the ones they can make themselves.

Matthieu Aikins wrote on an in-depth story for Wired Magazine on Syria’s “Makers of War.”

He focuses on one self-made weapons engineer, who goes by the name of Abu Yassin, in Aleppo.
