There were reports yesterday from Hama in Syria that government troops had fatally shot at least six protestors demonstrating against President Bashar al-Assad  and his regime. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton responded  last week  to the ongoing violence, saying that the country’s transition to democracy was becoming more urgent.   Congressman Dennis Kucinich tells us about his recent fact-finding mission in Syria, where he met with President Assad and other parties involved in the ongoing conflict there, to speak about plans for progress.
Joshua Landis, director at the Center for Middle East Studies at the University of Oklahoma, speaks about whether the Syrian leader can make the changes needed for genuine democratic reform.
