Last night, The President and First Lady Obama made the White House's East Room center stage for a star-studded performance, in tribute to Paul McCartney. The former Beatle joins Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder as the third recipient of the Library of Congress' Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. The purpose of the prize is to "honor artists whose creative output transcends distinctions between musical styles and idioms, bringing diverse listeners together, and fostering mutual understanding and appreciation.?
