The World

Craig Robinson is best known as Michelle Obama’s big brother, and it’s a role he says he’s more than happy to play. After all, when they were growing up, Michelle was always known as Craig Robinson’s little sister.

Even without the Obama factor, Robinson has an inspiring life story of his own. He grew up on the South side of Chicago, where he managed to excel academically. He attended Princeton, where he became a basketball star, good enough to be drafted by the NBA, and went on to play professionally in England. After a couple of years, he returned to the U.S. and made a name — and a pretty sweet salary — for himself in the finance world. Then he walked away to pursue another dream of coaching college basketball.

And then, his brother-in-law ran for president.

Craig Robinson, author of the book “A Game of Character,” joins us from the campus of Oregon State University in Corvallis, where he coaches the men’s basketball team.
