At the beginning of October, many members of Congress took a tough vote. The economic rescue plan was extremely unpopular with voters. That only improved a little bit once politicians changed the name from “bailout” to “rescue package”. For conservative Republicans especially, the bailout smacks of a big government takeover of private business. Whether you call that “socialism” or something else, it potentially means one thing: a scar on Republicans’ small-government brand. Guest: Todd Zwillich, Capitol News Connection
