Big corporate names have inched into the marijuana industry since Canada approved recreational use, seeing the country as a production base and testing ground until US Federal Law changes.

The Lebanese government is milling a controversial idea: Taking over the illicit cannabis trade and developing a medicinal marijuana industry to help the country’s struggling economy.

Molson Coors has teamed up with a marijuana producer to create non-alcoholic cannabis-infused beverages, which could be for sale in Canada as early as September 2019.

“We’re just realizing marijuana’s potential. It could be the next economic bonanza — like coffee was.”

Jamaica legalized medical marijuana and created a new licensing system to allow farmers to legally grow cannabis for medical, scientific or therapeutic purposes. But the fees are expensive and small farmers say they’re being left by the wayside.
