Red Light Jihad: About the video
Editor's note: Correspondent Patrick Winn began reporting this series in early 2014, spending months securing access to the characters featured in the piece. He and videographer Mark Oltmanns filmed the story on location over the summer.
For clips of terrorist training and attacks, they obtained video that had been leaked via multiple websites. GlobalPost verified the clips, many of which appear to have been recorded by either Thai security forces or volunteer EMTs.
