The real photos from Venezuela’s protests are very disturbing

Thousands have taken to the streets in Venezuela in recent weeks to voice their discontent with President Nicolas Maduro's socialist government.

The protesters have been heavily reliant on social media, with the country going through the "worst media blackout in our history right now," according to Lorena Di Cecilia, chief of operations at Digital Monitoring, a Caracas-based media watchdog.

Unfortunately, some of the most memorable photos to come out of the protests aren't even real.
