International Weapons Trafficking Ring Exposed in Mauritius

The World

A global weapons trafficking ring based on the African island nation of Mauritius has been exposed.

Anchor Marco Werman talks to Kathi Lynn Austin, executive director of the Conflict Awareness Project, about her recent investigation into an international gun running operation centered in Mauritius. The ring was being set up to covertly transport weapons and ammunition into UN-sanctioned conflict zones.

This week, Mauritius took action of its own to disrupt the arms traffickers and said it would launch its own investigation.
