Untangling the Truth in Libya

The Takeaway

There are conflicting reports from Libya. Witnesses say there’s been gunfire in Tripoli, but a regime spokesperson says “there is absolutely no fighting” there. State TV says troops have retaken control of towns including Zawiya, Misurata and Tobruk, but reporters say that there isn’t eye witness evidence to support those claims. All of this conflciting information makes it particularly challenging for journalists in the country. The BBC’s Kevin Connolly reports on the challenges of finding the truth in Libya.
