Tig Notaro: Only Female Comedian for SXSW

[waitingforcorrection: no audio, invalid GUID — seems to have been moved to the TT blog] Up-and-coming comedian Tig Notara wasn’t much of a household name until a few weeks ago, when South by Southwest included her on the list of comedians to perform at the festival this week. Making it to the list isn’t what gained her notoriety, however –  it was that she was the only female comedian chosen by SXSW. Since the announcement and a subsequent outcry from the public over the lack of female participants, the festival has added other women to the comedy lineup. We talk with Notara about being the only woman chosen and whether she believes it’s indicative of a larger problem of gender discrimination in the comedy industry.
