Pink Martini and Saori Yuki Pay Tribute to Japanese Pop Hits

The World

We end 2011 by raising a toast to the retro-swing band Pink Martini.

The Portland, Oregon-based group was founded by band leader Thomas Lauderdale.

On past albums, China Forbes has been the lead singer, but Japanese pop star Saori Yuki is featuring in the band’s latest album “1969.”

In the album Yuki and Pink Martini perform together Japanese pop hits from 1969.

Anchor Marco Werman talks to Saori Yuki and Pink Martini band leader Thomas Lauderdale.
