Rose Norton is one of the owners of Coda Music in the center of Edinburgh. She took The World’s Carol Zall on a tour of the shop and talked about some of the best-selling CDs at her shop.

She started with a CD called “Haunted Bird” by two musicians, Iain Morrison and Daibhidh Martin. She said they are both from the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, and Iain Morrison is the winner of the Scottish traditional music award composer of the year for 2010.

“So we’ve sold lots of that CD ad also his solo CD called ‘Trust the Sea to Guide Me,'” she said.

Norton said another favorite is Julie Fowlis.

“Julie’s from Uist and she’s a Gaelic singer, and whether you speak the language or not, it doesn’t seem to matter because the songs are so beautiful,” Norton said.

Norton next talked about the Peatbog Faeries and said Coda Music has sold a lot of their CDs throughout the summer. She said the band has recently released another CD called ‘Dust’.
