Movies: ‘Dinner for Schmucks,’ ‘Charlie St. Cloud,’ ‘Cats and Dogs’

The World

Several big movies for audiences of all ages open today, and Rafer Guzman, Takeaway contributor and Newsday film critic, gives us his take on three of them.

“Dinner for Schmucks” stars Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd, but the comedy falls flat, according to Rafer. “Charlie St. Cloud,” starring heartthrob Zac Efron is a sappy look at the relationship between two brothers. And finally, “Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore” is this weekend’s big kids movie, but did it make Rafer want to become a flying cat detective?
