In Living Color: looking back, twenty years later with David Alan Grier

The World

Twenty years ago this weekend, a new sketch comedy show, “In Living Color,” made its debut on the then-fledgling network, Fox.

The groundbreaking show took television comedy to new places, bringing issues around race and class to the forefront. It jumpstarted the careers of Jim Carrey, Jamie Foxx, then fly-girl Jennifer Lopez, many members of the Wayans family and David Alan Grier, among others. We talk with actor David Alan Grier (follow him on Twitter @DavidAlanGrier), about his role in the hit TV show and why it’s still relevant two decades later.
