Pinter died yesterday, he was 78 years old. Among those paying tribute today was France’s President, Sarkozy. Pinter is known for many plays, including The Caretaker and The Homecoming. Pinter received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2005. when it came to politics, Pinter wasn’t shy. In 1949 he refused to finish his military service as a conscientious deserter. This literary analyst says Pinter’s work was seeing the connection between the personal and the political. Another part of Pinter’s genius lied in the dialogue he wrote, both what they said and didn’t say.
