Global Hit – Jimi Hendrix

Now — from Beethoven… to Hendrix. A guitar used by Jimi Hendrix went on the auction block today.

It’s a Fender Stratocaster that Hendrix used during a 1967 concert in London. He set the guitar on fire at that show.

The instrument survived — only to end up in someone’s garage in England. It was re-discovered last year. One man lucky enough to play the scorched guitar before it went up for auction was the BBC’s Martin Shankleman.

He came to the studio — with his OWN guitar — to describe what it was like to play Hendrix’s.
