Follow the Mura to today’s Geo Quiz destination. The Mura is a central European River.

It flows into the Drava and then its on to the blue Danube. If you follow the Mura up to its source in the Austrian Alps, you’ll come across the town we’re looking for.

It’s nestled in the countryside, surrounded by old walls that date back to the days of Venetian traders.

The town became an important Jewish outpost back around the 13th century. It prospered by collecting tolls from traders who passed that way to cross the Alps.

So name this Austrian town on the Mura where early Jewish culture flourished…

For our Geo Quiz today we asked for the name of a small town on the Mura River in the Austrian state of Styria.

The answer is Judenburg, Austria.
