Steve talks with Tan Sri Razali Ismail, the Malaysian ambassador to the United Nations, about Malaysia’s refusal to sign onto a international treaty on forest preservation. Malaysia and several other countries blocked the treaty which was scheduled to be signed at next month’s UN Earth Summit in Brazil. Razali says the treaty was too narrowly focused on tropical regions and put too great a burden on developing countries.
