University of Wisconsin Madison suffers shooting scare

Students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison were asked to "shelter in place" Wednesday evening, after shots were reportedly fired on campus at 6:23 p.m. local time.
According to the university website, the UWPD was given a report of shots fired at the 100 block of Langdon street near the university, to which both campus and local police responded.
Madison police reported that they had arrested two male teenagers on suspicion of robbing a 19-year-old man of his wallet, backpack and keys, reports Reuters.
The Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal-Sentinal reports that the robbers fired a gunshot after a friend of the vicitm began to chase them, although it's unknown if the shot was fired at somebody or into the air.
The university stated on its website that there is "believed to be no ongoing danger to the campus community," although an investigation continues.
The scare at the prominent research university came in the midst of a bad week for gun violence, after a shooting spree at the Navy Yard in Washington DC killed thirteen people.
