Mexico: 13-year-old self-confessed hitman found murdered

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – A self-confessed child hitman has been found murdered in Mexico.

The body of the 13-year-old was among six bodies found near Morelos in the central state of Zacatecas on Thursday morning, El Universal reported.

The victims – four women, one man and the teenager – showed signs of torture, the newspaper added, citing Zacatecas Attorney General Arturo Nahle García.

The Daily Mail reported one of the victims may have been the boy’s mother.

Police arrested the teenager in early February and he admitted taking part in at least 10 murders, including three he had carried out himself, Milenio reported.

The Daily Mail said the boy had been working for the hyper-violent Zetas drug cartel.

Despite his confession, the boy was released from custody because he was six months short of his 14th birthday, which is the age of criminal responsibility in Zacatecas, Milenio reported.
