Indian authorities filed rape and murder charges Thursday against five men accused of gang rape of a 23-year-old university student.

A sixth suspect will not be charged until medical tests to determine his age are completed.

The trial will be held in a fast-track court, with hearing beginning as early as this weekend.

Reporter Andrew North talks with a rape survivor tho talks about the challenges facing women in India.

Marco Werman speaks with Nita Bhalla, South Asia correspondent for the Thomson Reuters Foundation, about a recent poll that places India last among the G20 countries in the list of best and worst places to be a woman in the world’s biggest economies.

Bhalla says that much of the problem relates to India being such a young nation.
