Hosni Mubarak treated in Cairo hospital after prison fall

Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is being treated in the hospital after he fell in a prison toilet and hit his head, according to the BBC citing state media.

Mena news agency reported he also bruised his chest, BBC said.

CNN reported the 84-year-old is serving a life sentence in Cairo's Tora prison for not preventing the killing of demonstrators during Egypt's recent uprising.

Mubarak's long-time rule ended in February 2011, he was sentenced last June.

Deputy interior minister Gen. Mohammed Ibrahim told the BBC Mubarak was expected to go back to prison on Wednesday.

CNN said Mubarak has suffering a number of health problems, including a coma, since his conviction.
