A female suicide bomber tried to blow up Qazi Hussain Ahmad, a prominent politician in Pakistan who used to head the country's main Islamist party, Zeenews reported. Ahmad escaped unhurt but three of his aides were wounded in the attack.
Despite his narrow escape, "he remained safe in the explosion," an official told ANI.

The bomber was wearing a burqa that hid explosives strapped to her body. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack but Pakistani Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud recently spoke out against Ahmad, accusing him of supporting Pakistan's current rulers, the Associated Press reported.
