Glenn Beck launches denim line (VIDEO)

Forget Tom Ford, Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, or even the Gap. These folks have nothing on the next great American designer who goes by the name Glenn Beck.

Glenn Beck, the conservative pundit who went after Levi's last year for its commercials depicting a global revolution and called for a boycott of the brand, has put his denim where his mouth is and has started selling 1791 Denim. Why? Because denim is American as apple pie that's why.

According to press release sent to Yahoo News, the company said, "Rather than sit back and complain about yet another industry going overseas, Glenn decided to do something about it and tasked the nascent 1791 clothing line."

Of the denim line Beck said they are "100% made in America. It has the copper rivets, it has the button fly, it has the exact fabric that, if you’re my age, you grew up with. The exact fabric that the miners used to use in the 1800s.”

Beck's first pair of blue jeans comes with its very on commercial that Beck himself is the voice of.

The commercial starts with a clear dig at Levi's saying, “These were the first American blue jeans — the jeans that built America. And they were built in America, built at a time when things were timeless. A time when you knew things would last. A time when people worked for their dreams, and their dreams worked for them.”

How much will Beck's alternative to Levi's cost you? A mere $129, plus tax, plus shipping.

Would you wear them?
