Courtney Love’s former researcher sues for ‘evil’ conduct, unpaid wages

Courtney Love, Kurt Cobain's widow, is being sued by a former assistant for unpaid wages.

Jessica LaBrie, who is also set to publish a tell-all book on the Hole frontwoman titled "Get Me A Xanax," also claimed Love made unethical requests, including instructing her to hire a hacker and falsify legal letters, the Associated Press reported.

E! News, which obtained a copy of LaBrie's lawsuit, wrote that she was hired by Love in June 2010 as a "forensic research aide" for $30 an hour.

LaBrie's attorney, Joshua Gruenberg, said Love wanted a hacker to change the records of businesses she owned or believed she owned, the AP reported.

LaBrie's suit also claims that Love had her working 60-plus hours a week without paying overtime and that she never followed up with a promise to pay for LaBrie's Yale tuition.

Nor did she pay any promised bonuses or secure her a job on the set of a Nirvana biopic, as promised.

LaBrie, who says in the suit that Love "acted with an improper and evil motive amounting to malice or despicable conduct," wants unspecified damages from the case.

Love's attorneys told US gossip site TMZ that they hadn’t seen the lawsuit details.

Love is also being sued by her former legal representatives Keith A. Fink & Associates, who are seeking $466,029.41 in outstanding fees.
