Aussie gets stitches after club brawl between Chris Brown and Drake over Rihanna

R&B singer Chris Brown appears in court with his attorney Mark Geragos for a probation progress report hearing on February 22, 2011 in Los Angeles, California. Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting his pop star girlfriend Rihanna after a pre-Grammy Awards party in 2009. He was given a sentence of five years probation and ordered to complete 180 days of community labor and a year of domestic violence counseling.

An Australian woman, 24, was reportedly left with a head wound requiring 16 stitches after fight broke out between Chris Brown and rapper Drake at the trendy New York nightclub W.i.P.

The singers have reportedly had a long-running feud over Drake’s brief relationship with Rihanna after she broke up with Brown, reported.

Brown — who split with Rihanna in 2009 after he assaulted her before the Grammy awards — was reportedly struck in the face with a bottle, however he later made light of the brawl on his Twitter feed.

He tweeted a photo after the fight showing a cut on his chin and reportedly also tweeted: "How u party with rich n----- that hate? Lol....Throwing bottles like girls? #shameonya!"

However, he removed the photo and the message, and his representative issued a statement saying Brown, his girlfriend and friends were the victims of a brutal attack, the Daily Mail wrote.

"Chris, Karrueche [Tran, Brown's girlfriend] and his friends were victims of a brutal attack last night at WIP. They sustained several injuries. Chris and his party are cooperating with NY authorities who are pursuing this incident further," Brown's spokesman, Jeff Raymond, said in a statement cited by Reuters.

Drake's spokeswoman Allison Elbl Striegel, meantime, issued a statement saying the 25-year-old singer "did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began. He did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property."

However, a source told the New York Post: "They were on opposite sides of the room, Drake went over to the middle of the club to talk to someone, then words were exchanged with Chris and his entourage."

The source said someone from Drake's entourage, possibly the singer himself, threw a bottle.

Pictures posted on the Internet showed shattered glass and overturned furniture strewn about the nightclub in SoHo.

The Australian, who gave her name only as "Hollie C," told celebrity website TMZ that she was struck by a flying bottle.

"Within a few moments of noticing glass being thrown around, I saw a glass bottle headed towards me; consequently hitting me in the head," she said.

"I immediately started to bleed and proceeded to fall in and out of consciousness."

She also provided photos of her injuries, and said that after being taken to hospital and receiving 16 stitches and a tetanus shot: "I had to take the subway home with no money or jacket. Nobody would even sit beside me. My friends were so scared because they did not know where I was."

An NYPD spokesman told that a 25-year-old man also suffered a serious cut to the head, while two men and two women suffered minor cuts and at least three were hospitalized.

Of Hollie, he said: "She's 24. She is from Australia visiting and she’s leaving on Monday. She had a minor cut to her head. She’s a victim right now, so she’s been interviewed."

According to, Brown is thought to have sent a bottle of champagne to Drake's table as a peace offering.

The bottle was reported returned with a note: “I'm f***ing the love of your life, deal with it."

Other hip-hop stars spotted at the club late Wednesday night and early Thursday included Fab, Ne-Yo, Maxwell, Julez, Mary J. Blige, Meek Mill, Trey and Maino, the Post reported.

Some reports claimed the fight stemmed from rapper Meek Mill, a friend of Drake's, harassing Brown about Rihanna.
