Golshifteh Farahani banned from returning to Iran over nude photos in Madame Le Figaro (PHOTOS) (VIDEO)

Golshifteh Farahani, a Paris-based Iranian actress, has been banned from returning to her homeland after posing nude for a French magazine.

Government officials have told Farahani, 29, that she's no longer welcome in Iran after posing naked for Madame Le Figaro, Britain's Daily Telegraph reported.

She also appeared topless in a short black-and-white film by Jean-Baptiste Mondino, called "Corps et Âmes," or "Bodies and Souls." (WARNING: contains nudity):

And the actress, who became the first Iranian to star in a major Hollywood film — Best Foreign Film Oscar favorite "A Separation" — has posted a bare-chested photo of herself on her Facebook page. 

"A Separation" won a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film of the Year.

Farahani previously appeared alongside Leonardo Di Caprio in the Hollywood film "Body of Lies," as a nurse who helps an injured American secret agent to recover to carry out his mission in a Muslim country. The film also featured an Israeli actor, Alon Abutbul.  

According to YNet, Farahani's presence in the film prompted outrage in Iran.

The semi-official Fars news agency said, "With the little support she still had left, Farahani now betrayed her supporters too."

Farahani moved to Paris several years ago after being criticized in 2008 for failing to wear a veil at the Academy Awards ceremony, YNet reported.

She told the Telegraph that the government had sent a communication telling her not to travel back to her homeland.

"I was told by a Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guide official that Iran does not need any actors or artists. You may offer your artistic services somewhere else", Farahani said.

According to the Telegraph, Iran's government has launched a crackdown on the film industry, closing the House of Cinema institute in Tehran.
