British soldiers arrested for Afghan child abuse
The British Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday that two British soldiers were arrested for “inappropriate behavior” in Afghanistan, according to Reuters.
The BBC reported that the two servicemen who were arrested came from the Mercian Battle Group. The allegations suggest they were involved in the abuse of two Afghan children, aged 10.
The Sun claims that the soldiers, a sergeant and private, filmed the incidents and showed them to fellow soldiers.
President Hamid Karzai said in a statement, “The government of Afghanistan is immensely disgusted by the rise in recent incidents of immoral nature among foreign soldiers that clearly undermine public confidence and the Afghan people's cooperation with foreign troops.”

"We take any such allegation extremely seriously," a statement from The Royal Military Police said, according to the Associated Press. "It would be inappropriate to comment further while an investigation is ongoing."
The allegations come just a week after a video tape was released showing US Marines urinating on the corpses of Afghans.
