“Flee Expression” in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwean cartoonist Tony Namate has been poking fun at politicians for years.

Even as Zimbabwe's situation has become dire and violent, the inventive Namate has found witty ways to illustrate and comment in ways that elicit smiles. Grim smiles.

For instance this latest cartoon comments on the reports that President Robert Mugabe's security forces have unleashed a wave of political violence across the country. Namate dubs the population's response "Flee Expression."
