Stiletto: Australia’s biggest brothel coming to Sydney

GlobalPost

Sydney will soon have a big, fancy brothel equipped with rooms that have two king-sized beds, a pool table, lounge and spa.

Here is a proposed floor plan.

The Stiletto brothel plans to build a $12.7 million extension that will double its size to 40 working rooms and 21 waiting rooms, AFP reports. A development application has been lodged.

The extension would make the Stiletto's Australia's largest brothel.

"Yes, we think it will be the biggest brothel in the country once the extensions are completed," Michael O'Brien, of Artazan, the company managing the project, told the Sydney Morning Herald.

Prostitution is governed by state and territory laws in Australia, making in legal in some areas of the country like New South Wales and illegal in other areas.

A former consultant to the brothel industry, Chris Seage, told the newspaper he had never before heard of two-bed rooms.

"It sounds like it's a facility for friends to go along in groups and book the room for a couple of hours, have a few drinks, play pool and do the deed," he said.

DISCUSSION: Should all of Australia have one rule on prostitution? If some states allow it, should they be permitted to have large, fancy brothels that will attract a lot of attention? Leave your thoughts on this story in the comments section below.
