Former central bank head being floated as Olympics chief

An increasing number of news outlets here are touting Brazil’s former central bank governor, Henrique Meirelles, as a possible head for Rio de Janeiro’s Olympic Public Authority, which will oversee preparations for the city's 2016 Games. Lending credibility to the rumors, another leading official in Rio joined the chorus calling on the widely-respected Meirelles to take the job:

"His is a name that pleases the state government,” Rio de Janeiro state Governor Sergio Cabral said Tuesday.  Thanks to the folks over at Beyond Brics for pointing this out, along with the other jobs Meirelles may be considering.
