In what has been dubbed, a ‘tool belt recession’ construction has slowed almost everywhere in the US. Everywhere, except New Orleans. In the last five years, Latino migrant construction workers have been busy at work helping the city rebuild. But wage theft of this largely undocumented workforce continues to be a big problem in the city. One New Orleans attorney is leading the charge to help the city’s new Latino work force fight for their pay. The world’s Julia Kumari Drapki has the story.
