The World

For this week’s movie segment, we discuss the international film phenomenon, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Already the top grossing film in Scandinavian history, the cold case murder mystery has opened in a handful of theaters across the U.S. over the past several weeks to enthusiastic audiences, stellar reviews, and rumors of a Hollywood adaptation.

Emily Rems, managing editor for Bust Magazine, tells us why she thinks this action movie has managed to attract so many fans – including herself – despite being Swedish and subtitled.

And Rafer Guzman, Takeaway contributor and Newsday film critic, shares his opinions on whether the film lives up to all the critical, popular, and feminist hype.

Also, it’s time for Friday movie trivia and we’re acknowledging Swedish great, Ingrid Bergman.
