Help isn’t coming fast enough in Haiti

The World

After the quake, help can’t come fast enough as Haitians wait for basic needs, like water and food, to reach them.

The relief effort has begun in Haiti, but people in the country are still in need of water, food and shelter. We hear from some of those who have lost their homes, their families and their security. And we speak with Christina Boyle, reporter for the New York Daily News, who wrote yesterday that she had been with a man who had been waiting for his wife for five days outside the same scene where he was rescued. “Really sad,” she wrote, “Was there again today as the locals started pulling dead bodies out, so he was waiting to see if it was his wife – but still hoping/believing it wasn’t.”
