The World

Drew Daniel and M.C. Schmidt are sound artists who’ve been releasing records as the duo Matmos since 1997. The Washington Post recently called them “perhaps the most inventive, uninhibited, and engaging electronic music group on the planet.” They’ve made music out of some very unlikely sounds, including amplified bodily fluids, household objects and appliances, various animals and insects, and recordings of miscellaneous forms of surgery. They’ve also collaborated with Björk and served as members of her touring ensemble. They’re on Fair Game with Faith Salie to discuss their latest album, Supreme Balloon.
