Thai hunger strikers nearing 50 days without food

Two women in Thailand have refused food for nearly 50 days in a bid to free fellow Thai activists from prison. Their hunger strike is aimed at compelling authorities to release 16 people arrested in connection with protests against the judiciary. All but three are now out on bail, but the women — whose condition is worsening, according to doctors — vow to continue until all of the protesters are freed.
