New rules in Iran over the hijab

A new bill set to be approved by Iran’s Guardian Council will increase the sentence for women violating the country’s dress code to 10 years in prison. They’ll also have to pay higher fines, which can be deducted automatically from a woman’s bank account. Dress code enforcement has already been ramping up. Women can be caught on video or reported on by strangers for not wearing the hijab head covering. And a lot of cars are getting impounded over women driving without a head scarf, forcing them to pay high fees for the return of their vehicles.
