Mumbai’s largest informal settlement slated for redevelopment

Dharavi is known as the largest informal settlement in Asia. One million people live in 1 square mile of Mumbai. For decades, it’s been slated for redevelopment, with the formalization of streets, utilities and services for 20 years now. From Mumbai, Raksha Kumar reports that plans are finally taking shape, but debates remain over where people will live, and whether they will be able to continue to work on small businesses close to home.
