Israel’s 2005 withdrawal from Gaza was a challenging moment for Israel. Along with the military, some 9,000 Israelis settlers were evacuated, many against their will. And now, as Israel pushes deeper into Gaza, and Palestinians are displaced from their homes, some of those evacuated Israeli settlers are hoping to return.
