In the 1990s, Medellin, Colombia, was one of the world’s most-dangerous cities, and home to the notorious drug trafficker Pablo Escobar. Thirty years after Escobar’s death, the situation has changed, thanks to policies that have reduced crime and increased investment in education and culture. Now, Medellin has a new problem — tourists who don’t leave. Manuel Rueda brings us the story of the digital nomads who are moving in.
