Activists in The Gambia see progress in campaign to end female genital mutilation

UNICEF estimates that roughly 200 million women and girls across the globe have been subjected to female genital mutilation. In The Gambia, the practice was outlawed in 2015, a sign that decadeslong efforts to put an end to the practice are working. But, as Alexa Dvorson reports from The Gambia, changing laws is one thing; changing minds is much harder.
