Elana Gordon covers global health at The World, where she has reported on everything from the expansion of overdose prevention sites in Canada to the World Health Organization’s move to recognize Traditional Chinese Medicine.

She also moderates a weekly Facebook live conversation about the new coronavirus each Tuesday at noon, as part of an ongoing partnership between The World and The Forum at Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Elana’s stories have been featured on NPR, Kaiser Health News, The Washington Post, and the podcasts “99% Invisible” and “Criminal.” She is a founding member of WHYY’s health and science show, “The Pulse.”

She came to Boston in 2018 as a Knight Science Journalism fellow at MIT. That same year, her ongoing coverage of drug use in Philadelphia received a regional Edward R. Murrow Award.
