Financial experts estimate that criminals stole more than half a billion dollars through fraud in the UK in the first half of 2023 alone. Later this year, UK banks will be obliged under law to reimburse fraud victims. But the banks say they are fed up with already having to foot the bill and then compensate customers for online scams. They say it’s high time big tech companies shouldered some of the costs. The World’s Europe correspondent Orla Barry reports.
