Greenland implements tourism tax to protect the environment

The number of cruise ship passengers visiting Greenland has skyrocketed over the past decade, going from less than 8,000 people in 2014 to more than 50,000 people last year, according to Visit Greenland, the country’s government-funded travel site. Now, the parliament there hopes to guard against tourism’s wear and tear by charging visitors so-called environmental taxes. The World’s Bianca Hillier reports.
