Oil from a spill off of the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago is approaching the island of Bonaire, threatening mangrove, fish and coral ecosystems. The oil was first spotted by the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard on Feb. 7 and traced to an abandoned barge lodged on a reef about 500 feet off of Tobago’s southern coast.
