HIV drug shortage puts lives of children and pregnant women in Ghana at risk

The number of HIV and AIDS cases was on the decline around the world until COVID-19 hit. In Africa, efforts to contain the pandemic tapped health resources that once went to prevent new infections. Ridwan Karim Dini-Osman reports that in Ghana, the shortage of antiretroviral drugs is putting tens of thousands of lives at risk. Without the drugs, pregnant women are now more likely to pass the virus on to their newborns.
